Poster Research
This is a promotional poster for the acoustic artist Joshua Radin. This is very simplistic, it only has the basic information about the event, as well as something to symbolize the artist. The gun combined with the guitar could show an anti-war theme for the event, it may be trying to emphasize violence in the world. The brown background is the same as the wooden parts on the gun, again representing violence. the writing is is green and white, green is often associated with the enviroment, and the names are in white, associated with peace. This shows that the artists are supposed to fight violence. The design is simple yet effective because it is easy to read and you are likely to notice it and actually read the whole of the poster instead of missing parts of it. The font is easy to read and catches your eye.

Research Into Album covers
To include:
- Bar code
- Track names (which can easily be read)
- Bar code
- Track names (which can easily be read)
- A photo of the artist
Martin Sexton is also a folk artist which is why we chose to do some research into his albumn cover as it is relevant to our artist. The artist is the main part of the album cover, he is portrayed as a happy man suggesting that the songs on the album are upbeat and with a happy element to them. This has inspired us to make our album cover fit with the music on the album. The artists name is clearly written across the album so that you know what you are buying. For our album cover we will make sure that the artist's name will clearly be written across the cover. The sepia background produces a calming effect, making the artist seem more friendly, which adds to the acoustic feel of happiness. He is sitting on steps which represents a "working class" theme to the video, as rich people would rarely do this. it gives the effect he is equal to the rest of the people.

Our Idea for the Cover of Gateway box
This is the idea we had for the cover of our gateway box. We would use a picture of a real daffodil and a real picture of olivia and this would give the cover a fairy tale effect.

Digipak
A digipak is a book-like cover which fits with a CD or DVD. It is a patented style of CD or DVD packaging. The digipak should include a front cover, a back cover and a plastic tray slot for the DVD/CD to slide into. Digipaks should have clear information on about the product, for example track listings. They include certain record labels too.
Feedback Evaluation
We appreciated the feedback, however we were confused as to how the video has intertexual reference to twilight (even though Derek looks like the main character in it!)

Peer Goodwin Feedback
Genre Characteristics: In connection with the 'alternative folk' theme we really liked how you used the surrounding country side, public pathways and although slightly strange and unrelated with visuals, the pub scene is also a good link with the genre.
The connection is really good with the "relationship" and how Liv looks and interacts with Derek. Although at the end there is a contradiction with the lyrics "wakey-wakey rise and shine" and the face that you are filming at night time but it is not an contradiction, it creates interest and variation.
Music and Visuals: The tempo of the music fits well with the pace of the visuals, although in places the shots last a long time and if feels like it drags a little bit but otherwise really good!
Demands of Record Label: This is accomplished well as there are many good close ups.
Voyeurism: There are notions of looking especially when Liv is with Derek with the 'memory' effect of looking back on a moment in time.
Intertextuality: There is obviously the intertextuality to 'twilight' which is fun and interesting to watch and creates variation.unwelcom

Editing News
We have added the filter "Glow-Dazzle" and "Glow-Bloom" to most of the daytime shots and some evening. This has given a nice effect to the shots. One of the reasons for doing this was that unfortunately we filmed on quite a dull day, and this filter adds a bit of sunshine.
The shots with Olivia riding her bike down Regent Street have been editing with the filter of "Light-Rays", this has given a really nice effect that is quite dream like.
All the effects added have definitely added a fairytale dreamy feel to our music video and we are really happy with the outcome.

Open Evening
As a group we have decided to come in on the second open evening, on Thursday. We think that we need to do extra editing out of class time. This will give us the opportunity to spend at least two hours solely editing and be able to get feedback from a large number of people.

Olivia's CD Cover Ideas
This is one idea I had for the CD cover. I like the doodles, I think it gives a really good effect and it also shows a lot about the music that's on the album - from his artwork you know that the music is going to be by a young person, and you could probably guess that it's by a girl. The pink writing suggests this as well. The problem with this design is that it is quite difficult to read the tracks on the album, I think this is quite an important thing.
