Little Daffodils

For the last hour I've been putting a little picture of a simple daffodil at the end of every blog. I think it makes the blog look really nice and pretty. It also reminds us all the time of what we are doing :)

Editing

Today we have properly started editing. We have made sure that all four of the shots that I am singing the song in are lip-synced into the perfect place in the track. The first shot was me sitting on the floor singing the whole song of Daffodils. We took a long time over this as we had to refresh our memories on how to accomplish the task back to last year. We finally got the hang of it again and we were all really happy with the outcome. The next three were realitively easier than the first. We had a few hiccups every now and then (like accidently moving the track! and having to start all over again!!) but, as a group, we sorted it out and have completed this part of editing.

Next lesson we will be selecting loads of different shots to put in all over the place. What fun :)

Kettle Chips Advert

After filming on Thursday I went home and saw on the television a new advert for Kettle Chips.
I've decided to make a blog of it as the advert is very similar to one of the shots we have filmed in our music video.

Filming

We have decided to film on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th October.
We will also film as much as we can/need to during our media lessons.

Daffodil Lyrics

Strollin' past the Daffodils
I won't forget how it feels
to be lost in the
maze.

Laying on the sunkissed patch
of grass we found roung the back
of that palace garden place...

There weren't a cloud in sight,
nor people strolling by.
You held your hand in mine and I sighed,
For there was not much
to be found in your eyes....

Oh, of all the sights I've seen
never knew it'd be you me and Buckley Bee
in the cool, warm shade.

And I should of kissed your face...
I should've explored all of the places...
Ooo, oh my...
How you seem to make me shy...
Ooo, and every time you kiss me on the lips
I think of how I could get used to this.
Used to your kisses....

So wakey, wakey, rise and shine...
So wakey, wakey, rise and shine,
T'was another lovely evening again last night
honestly did I no to blige to your every whim,
seen as I was beholden?

Ooo, oh my...
How you seem to make me shy...
Ooo, and every time you kiss me on the lips
I think of how I could get used to this...

So wakey, wakey, rise and shine...

Ooo, oh my...
How you seem to make me shy...
Ooo, and every time you kiss me on the lips
I think of how I could get used to this...

Our Message to Charlene:

Dear Charlene,
We are in our second year of A-Levels studying Media at Long Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge. Our coursework this year is to produce a music video and our group have decided to make the video of your song Daffodils. We would like your permission to do this.

Artist Research

Charlene Soraia is a young solo artist based in London England. Her genre is mainly alternative folk, playing her acoustic guitar and singing with her dynamic angle-like voice.

At the moment she is still unsigned but is still making music nonetheless. On 25th March 2008 Charlene released Daffodils & Other Idylls, featuring - Bike, I Don't Believe You, Daffodils, Pictures In My Mind and Kissing Gate. A few months later, 23rd June 2008, Charlene released Postcards from iO, including songs called - Hello Again, Wishing (You) Well, Postcards from iO, Oh Well Orwell and Slip Away. This year One Of The Sun was released on 26th

January, including - This House, Rowing, Distorted Thoughts, Meadow Child and Midsummer Moon in June. All of these mini-albums can be brought on i-Tunes or directly from Charlenes website ... http://www.charlenesoraia.com/

When Daffodils was released on i-Tunes it became "i-Tunes single of the week", which is a great sucess for a young unsigned artist.

Charlene has been touring for the last few years and has also played at Glastonbury Festival where she performed as a finalist in the Emerging Talent Competion they hold there.
