David Guetta feat. Akon - Sexy Bitch

1. Music videos demonstrate genre characteristics (e.g stage performances in metal videos, dance routines in boy band videos)
This video is and R 'n' B and Dance video and demonstrates lots of genre characteristics, such as lots of half naked ladies dancing, club scenes, pool parties, soft pornography, suggestive dancing/wiggling and the ultimate high life of rich people.

2. Is there a relationship between lyrics and visuals? - either illustrative, amplifying or contradicting.
In this video there is a definite amplifying relationship between lyrics and visuals, for example "sexy bitch" is repeated in the chorus and there are indeed lots of sexy ladies throughout the video. "she's a diva" is a lyric in one of the verses, and the girls in this video are all ladies that what to live the high life of divas.

3. Is there a relationship between music and visuals? - either illustrative, amplifying or contradicting.
In this video there is an illustrative relationship between lyrics and visuals. The music is definitely summer music and therefore being set in Ibiza at a pool party mirrors the summeryness. Also it is in the club genre and this is conveyed by Akon performing in a club in the latter half of the video.

4. The demands of the record label will include the need for lots of close ups of the artist and the artist may develop motifs which recur across their work, a visual style.
In the video there are lots of close ups of Akon, for instance underwater, dancing and singing. There are a few close ups of David having a good time in the pool too. The richness is conveyed by the house, lavish pool, aeroplane and singing his own set at the club.
There are many different shots of ladies bodies in the video, which is probably one of the main intentions of the video.

5. There is frequently reference to notions of looking within videos - screens in screens, telescopes etc, and particularly voyeuristic treatment of the female body.
In the beginning of the video Akon is asleep on the bed, and there are many Polaroids of ladies covering the bed. Later on there are two girls in the pool taking lots of photos of each other.
The shots taken in the video of the ladies are extremely close up of particular body features, for example face, bottom, stomach and breasts.

6. There is often inter textual reference within videos, such as films etc.
Akon is well-known for his lavish videos, lots of ladies and money spent, also having a performance somewhere. This video does not fail.
